Advanced Chemistry: Vitamin Projects.
Advanced Chemistry students are actively engaged in learning the basics to biochemistry during the 2nd semester. As one of the biochemistry units, these students study enzyme structure, function and kinetics. An integral part in enzyme function is defined by the role of cofactors or coenzymes. The vitamins are typically organic structures that assist specific enzymes in our bodies.
The Advanced Chemistry students, for 2001-02 & 2002-03, were assigned to research a specific vitamin and then create a series of web pages to explain their findings. The following is a list of these students and their projects.
Dimi Hua: Niacin | Angie Maske: Vitamin B6 |
Tri Huynh: Vitamin D | Lien Phun: Folic Acid |
Huong Le: Vitamin E | Jenny Truong: Vitamin A |
Nghia Le: Vitamin C | Kristin WIlliams: Vitamin K1 |
Matt WIlliamson & Doug Rasmussen: Vitamin B5 | Sean Brozek & landon pierce: NAD |
Julia Stanfield & Koren Plummer: Vitamin B1 | Minh-N Nguyen & Greg Hadwick: Vitamin K2 |
Lan Do & Thao Phan: Vitamin B2 | Andrea Olson & Jonas Azzam: Biotin |
Elizabeth Nguyen & Nhung Huynh: Coenzyme A | Chelsea Lawler & John Demitroff: Vitamin B12 |
