Student-centered Socratic discussions
1. There needs to be a volunteer for each review question assigned from the chapter. The remainder of the class will evenly distribute among these volunteers to help with the boards.
2. The volunteer is responsible for writing out the solutions to their assigned question on a 2' x 2' white board (be sure to include names & date on each board). The other members of the class will assist in helping with the solution and filling out a second white board with KNOW and UNDERSTAND statements regarding content covered in each question.
3. Each group will plan to present their solution to the class in order to facilitate a discussion about the problem and the content it covers.
4. My role is to moderate conversation and to not lead the conversation. This isn't a student-teach-student assignment but a opportunity for students to start dialogue about what they are learning in order to gain deeper understanding.
