Introduction
Vitamin B12 is a member of
the vitamin B complex. It is also known as Cobalamin because it contains a
cobalt molecule. B12 is primarily found in meat, eggs and dairy products.
Some research shows that some B12 is also found in plants such as fermented
soya products, seaweeds, and algaes however the B12 found in these foods is
lilely to be unavailable to humans. So therefore these sources of B12 should
not be relied upon as a safe source. Vitamin B12 is plays a very important
role in the proper functioning of the human body. It is necessary for the
synthesis of red blood cells, the maintenance of the nervous system and most
importantly in the growth and development of children.
