What is YES?
YES stands for Youth Ensemble of Strings. Founded 19 years ago, it is one of
the extension programs of the Lincoln Public Schools instrumental music department.
Students playing in the YES Orchestra can expect to be challenged musically
and technically. This year's orchestra is open to students in grades 5-8--strings
only. Students in YES are required to participate in their school's instrumental
music program. Students living in the Lincoln Public School district are welcome
to audition for the orchestra.
