Weather Man Visits 2nd Grade Wes Callison, Meteorologist from KLKN TV Channel 8, came to West Lincoln to enrich the 2nd graders knowledge of weather. He talked about clouds, tornadoes, flash flooding, and many other weather topics. We are now weather experts! Do you know the difference between a watch and a warning?
5th Grade Science Fair Awards and Celebration On Friday, those 5th grade students who participated in the West Lincoln Science Fair were rewarded for their efforts with certificates, ribbons, and PIZZA! Congratulations to all those 5th graders who explored the amazing world of Science!
Read Across America Celebration On Friday, March 2nd, West Lincoln celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday with a Read Across America Celebration! We had guest readers from the Lincoln community visit and read their favorite books to us. Plus we had door prizes and gave away fun stuff, including books! A big thank you goes out to our guest readers: Dave, Betty, Jon, Susan, Pat, and Mary!
2nd Grade Research Presentations One of our second grade classes conducted tons of research on animals, organized their findings, and presented their very own animal booklets, complete with original drawings!
1st Grade Immigration Our first graders learned about immigration in the classroom and then had the opportunity to "immigrate" themselves. Students visited stations where they went through the process of immigration and in the end got their pictures taken with the Statue of Liberty!
The Science Guy Third graders were amazed and entertained as the Science Guy visited West Lincoln. We learned about force and friction and energy, and in the end, we learned that a balloon filled with a flammable gas makes a HUGE BOOM as it explodes!
3rd Grade at Chet Ager Our third grade had the opportunity to go on a field trip to Chet Ager Nature Center. We hiked outside and saw eagles, snakes, turtles, American Bison, deer, and we learned about habitats, migration, food chains, prairie grass, and so much more. Thank you to our guides who shared their expertise with us!
