The recent release of Microsoft Office 2007 has presented us
with a new challenge. The default format used by Office 2007 is not
compatible with older versions of Office and requires conversion in
order to open and use files on a computer with an older version.
We are asking that users who have already upgraded at home
change their default settings following the instructions below.
1.Open Word 2007
2.Click the Microsoft Office button
3.Click the Word Options button
4.Click the Save button in the menu on the left side of the options
window
5. Select *Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc)* from the 'Save files in
this format' drop-down menu
1.Open Excel 2007
2.Click the Microsoft Office button
3.Click the Excel Options button
4.Click the Save button in the menu on the left side of the options
window
5.Select *Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls)* from the 'Save files in this
format' drop-down menu
1.Open PowerPoint 2007
2.Click the Microsoft Office button
3.Click the PowerPoint Options button
4.Click the Save button in the menu on the left side of the options
window
5. Select *Powerpoint Presentation 97-2003 (*.ppt)* from the 'Save
files in this format' drop-down menu
