TEEN HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Teen Health and Wellness: Real Life, Real Answers is a comprehensive database that allows teens (and those who care about teens) to research health-related issues important to their well-being. It is both a research/report tool and a self-help resource. If you do not find the answer to your question in our extensive help section, please see our User's Guide or contact us for further assistance.

After you click on Points of View you should be linked to the LPS/Library-Media Services Subscription page. Scroll down to Professional-Home Access on the right column. Click on EBSCO Professional Collection. You will enter the user name and password. This will open the EBSCO suite of databases. Scroll to the bottom of the page for POINTS OF VIEW.

Points of View Reference Center features a series of full-text essays representing opposing viewpoints on a variety of important issues. Students can use this resource as a guide to debate, developing arguments, writing position papers, and for development of critical thinking skills. Points of View Reference Center provides full-text content pertaining to hundreds of topics, each with an overview (objective background/description), point (affirmative argument) and counterpoint (opposing argument).

Maps 101 provides over 4,000 up-to-date maps for immediate download and printing, as well as interactive maps, antique maps, and earth science maps. The web site includes access to the blackline masters series, reference atlases, classroom resources, puzzles and games. A unique feature of this program is Geography in the News, which links current events in both the United States and the world at large to geography study.

We need teacher feedback on the value of this interactive, web-based global studies and geography resource in order to make an informed decision concern proposed purchase in April.
