Staff Library Resources

LPS teachers and staff may use the Staff Library Media Center from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., M-F in the district office building (LPSDO) at 5901 O St. Walk-in or phone: 436-1830 or 1831. All resources can be searched on the Dynix system. Visitors from the community are welcome to browse and view the materials on site.

  • Digital Cameras - Library Media Services has 11 digital cameras available for checkout. Contact Kathi Friesen @ext. 1845 to reserve a camera.

  • Duplicating Machine - The duplicating machine is housed in the LPS media processing area. The machine can be used to make multiple copies of CD's and DVD's.

  • ELL Collection - A collection of 500 book bags containing multiple copies of books at various reading levels that were selected through Excite grant funding. To access a list of all titles, enter "DRA" in a keyword search using the LPSDO Staff Library. Contact Betsy McEntarffer @ext 1831 or Terri Lyons @ext 1830 to reserve a bag.

  • Free Resources

  • Laminator - Library Media Services has a 25" laminator. Please allow three days for material to be laminated. Contact Susan Bell ext. 1839 or Gwen Brtek ext. 1838.

  • Mannequins - LPSDO has mannequins (adult, youth, child and baby) available for health classes to checkout. Contact Kathi Friesen @1845 to reserve the mannequins.

  • Multicultural Collection - Over 5,000 exemplary multicultural resources are arranged by culture and can be accessed by going to the Mosaic Database.

  • Non-Print Materials - Includes information in formats that are auditory or visual. Includes transparencies, slides, audiocassettes, realia, kits, posters, videos in kits, and maps

  • Preview Books - Newly published books from 60 publishers of trade books for libraries are available for teachers or library media specialists to check out for review purposes.

  • Professional Library - Professional books and videos on topics relevant to educators in all curricular areas and grade levels are available for checkout.

  • Professional Periodicals - Library Media Services subscribes to over 100 professional periodicals with many back issues on file. Teachers are also encouraged to use EBSCOhost Professional Collection which is available online.

  • Puppets - pdf

  • Science Screen Reports & Science Screen Reports for Kids - Two series of classroom videotapes devoted to helping educators, enhance curriculum related to science. Videotapes can be duplicated. Search the LPSDO Video Library to locate titles.

  • Video Eraser - This machine is housed in the hallway off the media processing area. It is a quick way to erase video tapes.
